Little Seal Rock.. The Grey Nurse Sharks Sanctuary. . . . Little Seal Rock is one of Seal Rocks most renowned shark dive sites as it's not uncommon to see aggregations of 20-30 sharks on a single dive. There is a small gutter in one side of the rock where you will undoubtedly see the sharks ‘hangout.’ Its like a small version of the sharks lounge room at Big Seal Rock. At the right time of year, you may even see the Grey Nurse Sharks’ brand new pups in this gutter. But be aware you must never enter the gutter, particularly at this time of year, as sharks are very territorial.

Other things you can see at this dive site include; Hundreds of schools of Baitfish, Yellowtail Kingfish, Giant Bull rays, Nudibranch (up to 30 different species) just to name a few. A brilliant dive!

ENTRY: You can get in to the water by a giant stride from the stern then swim to the bow.

DESCENT: Descend the anchor line holding the line all the way down.

DEPTH: Your average depth for this dive will be between 20-24 metres.

BOTTOM TIMES: Recommended bottom time for this dive will be around 30 minutes.

SAFETY STOPS: You will need to do a safety stop at 5 metres for 5 minutes.

DANGER: Current can be running hard, so you should hold the anchor line on your descent and ascent. Visibility can sometimes be down to 2 metres or so, but it can be up to 25 metres+ Depth can also be a danger as you could run low or run out of air.

IF YOU: Come off the mooring line just do a normal ascent to the safety stop at 5 metres. Do a 5-min stop, surface, establish positive boyancy, signal the boat and deploy your safety saugage. Wave your arm if you need help or your safety sausage and we will come and get you as soon as we can.
